Overcharging and not resolving problem as promised

Telecommunications

In Jan 2013, I elected to take the upgrade on my MTN 200 package, and to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy SIII, whilst remaining on my current contract, at an advertised price of R390 p.m. The upgrade was successfully completed and there was a once-off sim charge which was paid. Upon receiving my account in Feb 2013, I noticed that my contract had been upscaled to a 350 contract and that I had been billed an amount of R1000 extra. I called 808 immediately and the operator advised me that the phone was not available on my contract & so I had to be changed to a 350 contract. At no stage was I advised of this!! I investigated further and later presented a written advert indicating the phone was available on the 200 package. MTN then advised, on or about the 26th of February that they would reverse the charge, as it was an error. To my shock and dismay, on the 7/03/2013, the full amount of approximately R1400 was debited. This is completely unacceptable, contrary to their advice and dishonest. This has ruined my image of MTN.I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and I will be reluctant to deal with them in future. I trust that this amount will be urgently reversed and that an apology follows.
