Cut off with no notification

My 3G just stopped working, I kept thinking it is maybe the signal. I eventually phone and I get told we are cut off for no payment. The note on the account says that we must send proof on payment. We never received any notification. I have since emailed as my account lady was not in and have not received any correspondence. Does nobody pick up a phone and speak to people in 2013
