My Iphone 4s stopped working and was under warranty. I handed it in at Vodacom Care Centre and requested that it be repaired. I asked for a replacement phone while the repairs were being done. They we not able to do that and I had to make a plan on my own. I was notified that the phone was to be replaced as it could not be repaired. I asked to have the phone upgraded to a iphone 5 and offered to pay whatever difference in value between a 4s and 5. I was told that was impossible. I called the premium call centre and asked to be helped in the way I explained. I have had this account with Vodacom since mobile telephony started in SA and spend a lot monthly. I do not want anything for free, i just want some discression to pay extra and get the newest technology, partly driven by the fact that the upgrade to IOS 6.0.1 has caused this problem. There is a lot on the Web about some 4s phones becoming non operational because of the latest software upgrades. Is there anybody at Vodacom who has some discression on this simple problem. ( staff and general experience at Vodacom was good and i have no other complaints)
