I applied for a Telkom line and paid the deposit of R700 on 4 July 2013. I received my 1st invoice at the end of August 2013 and I paid the invoice on 3 September 2013 in full, R369.35. The September 2013 invoice I paid on 2 October 2013 in full, R198.75. October and November 2013 I didn't receive any invoice, though I made SEVERAL enquiries to customer care regarding this. I received an invoice dated 10 November 2013, late in December 2013. On 27 December 2013 I paid R600 per EFT.
I applied for a student loan and discovered that the invoices for October, November and December 2013, R593 was blacklisted at Experian as non-payment and my student loan was declined.
The Customer Care is also accounts and keeps on telling me that my account is up to date. They send emails to the legal dept. to contact me, but nobody contacts me. I need my credit record at the credit buros to be updated asap and I need a letter to state that I do not owe Telkom any money. I cannot get a student loan without this information and I have been struggling for 3 days now to be assisted in this matter.
Every day I do not get assistance is a day I miss classes and can't get my student loan approved!
