Too many security questions /Call Center TOO NOISY

Telecommunications

I phoned Customer Care to find out when my data contract expires, but before i could get that simple piece of unimportant information i had to go through a barrage of questions after which i was told i need to go to a Voda shop to check.

upon asking why i was told there are steps that needed to be followed and i didn't provide the correct info. I provided it a second time after checking on my bank statements and at long last got what I wanted.

I completely understand that these steps are necessary WHEN A CONTRACT IS RENEWED OR CANCELLED OR WHEN PERSONAL INFORMATION IS ASKED.

It should NOT be necessary when one simply want to know when the contract expires.

I was asked what my ID No is which is to be expected, what I didn't expect was to be asked what bank I'm with, which type of account it is, on what day of the month payment is deducted and what is my address

My second complaint is about the background noise. I was barely able to hear and made answering the unnecessary questions difficult.

All my past experience with Vodacom Customer care has always been great. But today it was so horrible it utterly destroyed my faith in Vodacom. Consider my contract cancelled on 4may
