Upgrade to data package and being barred

On 04/02/2014 I called MTN retentions to upgrade from a voice package to a data package to get a tablet. The request was logged (10 8852 897) stating that it will take 3 days to change the plan and thereafter the upgrade can be done. I have since been disconnected from the network. MTN says I have to Rica the number which i have had for 24 months prior.
