I've always been a massive Afrihost fan and never had any reason to doubt them, so when they offered to take over management of my ADSL line i jumped at the chance of never having to deal with Telkom again. In December I noticed my connection was slow and intermittent. I reported the issue to Afrihost who tested the line and confirmed my SNR was too low and the sync speed was down to 2 meg. This line has synced at up to 17 meg in the past. Since then a number of support tickets have been created, then closed, then re-opened and although i completely understand that the problem is on the Telkom network, Afrihost has promised to manage my line for me so I wouldn't have to deal with Telkom directly. I tested the line again today and the SNR is now above the 6.5dB threshold, but the line is still only synced at 2 meg! I've sent 2 e-mails to support in the last 24 hours and have still not received any response. In the meantime i'm still being billed for a 10-meg line even though for more than a month now it's only been running at 2 meg, and even then only intermittently!
