Vodacom
BIS Expiry Date

Telecommunications

I purchased BIS on 02/02/2014 and received an SMS informing me that it would expire on 04/02/2014 and that R59 had been deducted from my available balance. BIS is meant to be valid for 30 days.

As per the SMS, my BIS expired during the night. I called Vodacom's Customer Care this morning and was informed that the R59 had not been deducted from my funds. I was also told to buy more airtime and purchase the BIS again in order to reactivate it as there was nothing further Vodacom could do.

1. The fact that the funds were not deducted from my account is NOT my problem. I followed the necessary steps to purchase the package and received an SMS confirming my purchase. 2. Why was this SMS sent to me if funds were not deducted? 3. I had to purchase additional airtime because I assumed that the funds had been deducted and that I was using the balance of my airtime when making calls etc.

I am a working individual and my phone is vital to my productivity. A case was lodged and I have yet to (and doubt I will) hear back. I told the consultant I expect to be reimbursed for the additional airtime and will take things further should nothing be done.
