Virgin Mobile South Africa
Debit order still deducted after cancelling

Telecommunications

I had a two year top up contract with Virgin Mobile which ended in November 2013. I phoned on the 15 October 2013 to give them my months notice as required. I asked for the number to be moved to PAY AS YOU GO as I wanted to keep my number with my new contract somewhere else.

Now once again the debit order was deducted from my bank account. After holding on for about 20min I got through to a lady (didn't get her name) and asked her to check as the debit order was deducted again and I cancelled my contract 3 months ago. So she came back with some story about me cancelling my contract and migrating my number before the time and that there is an outstanding amount due for the handset because of this. She said that they release the number a month after the contract is up and as I requested it before the time this is why there is an outstanding balance. I said to her I cancelled my contract on the required date and I was not informed of that the number is only released a month after the contract is up. I would have waited then before moving to my new service provider. So my question is what excuse are they going to use next month and how do I get my money back.
