Virgin Mobile South Africa
Handed over for a month to month account

Telecommunications

We had a VIRGIN mobile sim card and we used the required 24 month contract. Thereafter it became a monthly month to month basis.
My hubby was retrenched so we decided to ditch the extra expenses. So we called virgin mobile and said we no longer want the account. They can pull the records on their system as they say they record the calls.
But it was not done - so we went to the VIRGIN mobile store in the EAST RAND MALL and the store manager there called the HEADOFFICE and had it cancelled there too.
But VIRGIN still deducted the money on our bank - so we ended up cancelling the debit order at the bank.
Now 2 years later we get a lawyers letter saying we now owe them money and all the legal fees. When I called the lawyers they have assign us to, they said I need to send them the information. I said I do not have the exact dates of when we called virgin and when we went to the branch, but surely they can get this from VIRGIN. Now I have to go and find the documents that I signed at the bank to stop the debit order - to prove round about what date this was. Like any telephone network if you dont pay they cut you off so how can we owe VIRGIN MOBILE???
