My wife ordered a transfer of a phone for my mother in law that lives in an old age home. Because of her deteriorating health she was moved from a flat to high care - The phone needed to move with her as this is part of her security. There was a commitment that the phone was to be sorted out by 15 January and this was confirmed by an SMS.

The line transfer was booked long before her move and after a multitude of calls and broken promises my wife again called today.

She spoke with a lady called 'Cornelia' who showed utter disrespect and total incompetence towards my wife. When not getting the support needed, my wife asked to speak to a supervisor - only to be met with silence.

She denied Telkom had any knowledge of the commitment

I have no expectation that this will be resolved via this complaint, but, after hearing my wife bemoaning the situation I cannot just keep quiet.

Needless to say, the situation is still not resolved.

If Telkom did not have a monopoly I would have moved my account in a second.
