Poor repair service and quality control

I had a problem with my Samsung mobile phone in that it would not want to charge its battery. The phone was still under warranty, so I took it in to get repaired on the 4th December 2013. My phone arrived back 4 weeks later and when I turned my phone on, I found my centre button had been broken.
I thus had to send it back in for repairs and it has been another week so far that I haven't had my mobile phone.
I think 5 weeks and counting is unacceptable and it is costing me a lot of money and inconvenience to have to keep sms'ing and buying more airtime as I have to used an old back up phone without the internet and whatsapp.
I can't see how this problem occurred as surely this button would have been picked up in quality control.
