I had signed a new contract with Vodacom, when I received the handset I had been given the incorrect simcard for the phone. I went to a Vodacom shop which had informed me that I needed to go to Customer Care in Midrand to get the matter resolved as they weren't able to.
The Midrand customer care center informed me that I needed to send the phone back to Vodacom Direct and only then will they be able to sort out the issue. I then decided to cancel the contract 2 days after receiving the phone. I received a cancellation ref number and was told that in a few days someone would collect my phone and will I be credited, a few days passed and no one came to collect my phone & after 2 weeks of back and forth with consultants who were not helpful, I was told that I could drop off the phone at the Vodacom Direct Department offices in Midrand (the phone should've been collected in the first place).
I dropped off the handset to Lulama Sono at Vodacom Direct on 13 Dec and was given a reference number and assured that I would be credited in 10 days, this has not taken place. My efforts to reach Lulama have been unfruitful. In addition I am still being debited for this cancelled contract!
