I purchased a pre-paid sim card from Vodacom a few years ago but recently, I have not been using it that much. I attempted to use it a few days ago but I could not unlock the sim. I eventually tried to unlock it using the PUK number but that still didn't work. I then called the call centre and was advised that the card had been cancelled and the number would be re-allocated as I had not used the card in a while. The worst part is that I still had money on the card. It seems that I have now lost that money in addition to the money I paid for the card. I find this unacceptable as I was not advised at any point during purchase of the card that I had to use it regularly in order to keep it active. As far as I am concerned this is a ridiculous policy which is tantamount to from customers!!!
