Vodacom
Accidental Damage from Handling

Telecommunications

After upgrading to Samsung S4 in June at Mall@Reds, I was comforted by an article in the July edition of Popular Mechanics about Samsung's ADH warranty offer "no-questions-asked cover for broken screens and liquid damage". This offering is not the paper worth it's printed on. My accident came when I dropped it in the toilet, I approach Vodacom Centurion lake. They informed me that if I haven't register for ADH within 30 days after upgrading they cannot help me. He just shrugged his shoulders when I told him I wasn't aware/informed of registering. According to him I had two options.1.Go and try my luck at the Samsung shop.2.Go back to Mal@Reds and ask why they didn't inform me about registering. I did both. Samsung claimed they cannot help me without registering and Vodacom Mall@Reds claimed that I should have read my warranty. The ADH information is all in there. I couldn't find a single reference in my warranty about ADH registering. So here I am. Phoneless because Vodacom didn't do their job properly. When a company is brave enough to publish and article of this extend they need to ensure that everybody in the loop is well informed, especially the customer. This is a costly mistake!
