To be charged extra on contract agreed upon

I had a contract with MTN which i cancelled on the 4th of November.

In September before i cancelled my contract i went to enquire as to the cancellation process and i was told to call the call centre line and they would give me the process. On calling i was informed that my last payment would be going off 01/11/2013 and i should only call in to cancel the contract after the 01/11/2013. I asked to confirm if i would not be charged anything after that, i.e. 01/12/2013 and it was confirmed that no further charges would be incurred.

I did as told and when i called in on the 04/11/2013 i called to cancel and was transferred to the cancellation department and again i confirmed if i would not be charged any other costs to which i was now told, i will be charged again on 01/12/2013.

After all the confirmation before cancelling, and now i am told it will charge. Contract was for 24 months which i served and was given confirmation of no further charges.

I am not happy and would like to contest this as i did confirm prior to this and at the end i'm told i'll be charged.
