Last month I posted a complaint about MTN. Basically, MTN unilaterally changed my contract from capped to uncapped without notifying me which resulted in escalated data charges. I was contacted by Warren Slabbert who was unable to resolve my query and just kept telling me that I used the data and must pay for it. This was never my query - I wanted to know why initially when I ran out of data I was capped but as of August, I was not. I sent Warren various emails and as of 21 October have had no further response from him despite me requesting information (the account was paid).

Today, after keeping a careful eye on my data usage to ensure I am not hit with more costs, I purchased a 75MB bundle (getting 25MB) free. I checked my data before purchasing the bundle (*141#) and it was at 0mb. I checked after receiving my bundle and it now shows 150MB. I queried this and was told that I only have 100MB. Is this MTNS way of tricking consumers into thinking we have more than we do so that once we go over the 100MB it can charge us the astronomical rates without us knowing? I cannot wait for my contract to be up so that I can get as far away from MTN as possible. Disgusting.
