How hard can it be to change a debit order date?

For months now I have been trying to get something as simple as a monthly debit order date changed with MTN.
First I was told that I should call back on a certain date since system changes can only be done on this date. I then did that just to be told that I missed the cut off deadline and must call back again the following month. Huh?!
Come the next month I was yet again told I missed the cut off deadline (after acting upon the instruction of an MTN call centre consultant)! Ridiculous!
So I decide to skip the phone calls and personally go into the store. That exercise too was unsuccessful since after visiting 2 separate stores my debit order date still remains unchanged. Needless to say that I am very upset and frustrated at this whole situation and would NEVER recommend any of my friends or family to join the MTN network!
Can someone please help me to get this right once and for all? I am bound by a 24 month contract and hence can't opt out, otherwise I would.
