NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE DEBIT ORDER DATE

I called into the customer service to change my debit order date as I had changed it last year in October due to an upgrade of my account, to a later date. Now that all is in order with my account details and want to change back my debit date to my salary date, I'm a told that I cannot change it with in a period of six months, and that there is nothing that can be done about it. I must just make sure that there is money in that account come the date that is currently used for the debit. The reason I had initially changed my debit date was to keep a good payment record with my creditor and the reason is still the same for the current request. Should it happen that I miss a debit because they refuse to change the debit order on my account they will be calling me nonstop to collect and I will have charges on my account that they will not be responsible for. I think it is highly unacceptable that a client needs to wait that long (6 months) to change their debit date as they do not know the financial position/situations of their clients. I am very disappointed as my payment profile with them is very clean and should be given leniency for that.
