Bassing the buck part one

Telecommunications

I had the misfortune of having a problem in the Vodashop in Canal Walk.
I had purchased an Ipad Mini from another Vodashop and had been advised that there was a 7 day return policy. I went to them on Monday evening to try and get my IPAD mini repaired as the 3g card would not connect., I was advised to bring the IPAD back in it's original packaging and it would be exchanged, as it was still within the 7 day return policy window. Sounds simple.. right?
However when I went back this morning, the story changed. First I was referred to the Istore as Vodacom Canal don't book in Ipad's, the IStore informed me that they only start covering from day 8 so I had to return to the Vodashop, by now I was a little irriated and confused as to who would help. The Vodashop again advised they can't help and I must call a courier company (RAM) for them to collect it. Now this sounds absolutely absurd to me why have a 7 day return policy for a product that you sell and then turn around to the customer and tell him/her that the return policy does not apply to Ipad's/Ipad Mini's etc. Why then have this policy at all, what would be the point?
