Data down unhelpful call centre

Telecommunications

Good Day,

Yesterday during a storm my mtn data stopped working and I could only intermittently connect on Edge. I tried calling 155 several times during the day and it wouldn't even connect to the call centre to start with. Eventually I got through to a gentleman who I told the problem. He didn't ask me to wait he just left me waiting for about 10 minutes then came back saying he was looking for an e-mail he then didn't answer me again and I could hear him talking in the background. I hung up angry and frustrated.

I called back and spoke to Thupani who at the very least listened to me. I was told my data was working in the area I am in (this is after I had to manually look up my gps co-ordinates and was told I should call back because this was taking long).

I was then basically told that she would report it and I couldn't have a reference number because well I don't know the phone number. It might help if you put this on the account. She said another one was down in the area but she couldn't even give me a basic idea of how long this would take to fix.

I understand after a storm connections can be affected but I am very unhappy with the treatment I as a customer received.
