What version should your Galaxy tab 2 be on?

I am making this a compliment because i usually get good service from you, hoping you can now help me. I am confused as to why my Galaxy tab 2 7.0 i have from you guys cannot upgrade it's firmware? It is stuck on 4.0.4, that cant be right. What is the right version it should be on? If you can tell me if it is not up to date, something must be wrong and I can bring it in.
