Misinformed about Contract

Earlier this year I went into MTN canal walk to get an upgrade on my current phone which was on the Top-up contract option. I was informed by the sales person that I could only get the phone on the open option but later found out that a top up was available. Since then I have tried several times, both in store and over the phone to get my contract changed to a top up with no success. I have about 4 different reference numbers from all the calls and options I have been given, but no one has gotten back to me or responded to queries. All I want to do is move my contract to a top up and would really like someone at Mtn with the authority to do this to please contact me. Really tired of all the back and forth with no actually progress or resolution.
