Vodacom won't repair Blackberry under warrantee

Telecommunications

My phone went for repairs & on its return I didn't make use of it directly. When the battery was inserted by the shop assistant the phone came on as normal & I switched it off again. I was using my backup phone & knew my repaired phone would be of no use because all my numbers etc had to be recovered from the previously made backup

That evening I noticed that the sim-card reader had one pin damaged but wanted to see if the phone would work. It did & the phone came on normally but as the phone prompted me to set the date & time the touch screen & menu-, return- and scroll buttons stopped working. At no stage did the phone give me sim-card errors. On connection to my PC it indicated that a software update was required & after the normal reset procedure it displayed "App Error 200.. Reset". The phone software completely crashed!

The next day I took the phone back and it was booked in again & to make a long story short, Blackberry refuses to replace the phone due to the damaged pin & Vodacom refuses to repair the pin they damaged on their cost. Instead I'm expected to pay R1800 for a replacement unit!? The phone is in a worse condition than what it was prior to the so-called 'repair'
