R900 Bill on credit limit of R300 data usage

I have had a data card with MTN for over two years... with a credit limit of about R350 . Whenever usage exceeds that limit, my data cuts off so i cant use it... this month my amount came in at R900 and when i called in to customer care and credit control they called in to say i have to pay the amount becos i was suppose to monitor my usage. Then whats the point of asking for a limit on it... why do it every other month but not this month... this is my second incident with MTN . The first time i asked for my cell to be on top up on a new phone and they didn't do it. so i got charged R1600.. No-where was i told i had to monitor my data usage becos the credit limit is not a guarantee!!
ANother way for MTN to make money of people... please becarefull
