Data roaming rip off wont put credit limit

Got a call from mtn today telling me my father has racked up a R5000 bill on data usage in the 3 days he has been in the United Kingdom. This is ridiculous he has obviously switched it on using wifi and it has stayed on. They should give a option to have a credit limit on ones account. When I asked the lady to do that she said mtn does not set credit limits, so the account in effect is limitless. I presume one could spend to infinity or until one is bankrupt. This is nonsense i want a limit set on my accounts. I recently went to rio and also got a R8500 surprise when I got home. I didn't for a moment think I could even spend that much on my cellphone. When one applies for any credit you get a limit set be it a loan or a credi card or account at a store etc why is mtn different. I intend on taking this further as mtn is ripping people off blatantly!!!
