Slowest ADSL ever!

I made the unfortunate decision to take out a 24 month contract with Telkom for a 4GB line with uncapped data. 5 months later and despite my complaints the line speed has not improved. The internet connectivity and line speed is horrendously slow (download speed 74 kbps and upload speed 421 kbps).

Complaining to the call centre will elicit the usual responses:

1. Switch off your modem and restart;
2. Undertake speed test;
3. Your complaint is in the hands of our technical team.

Surely there has to be recourse for selling a contract and "offering a service" but failing to deliver? I loathe paying my monthly bill for no service - but failure to pay results in a credit listing! What happens when Telkom fails to deliver - nothing!

I am a disgusted customer that now expects a refund and some action!
