Good morning,

I have had a contract with MTN for over 10 years and renew the contract every 2 years. I received my new Blackberry in November 2011. On the 11/6/2012 I took out insurance with MTN as I was going to be travelling a lot. This insurance was taken out at the Eikestad mall branch of MTN in Stellenbosch and i have the contract I signed and the MTN representative suggested that I take out the R54 option so that if something happened to my phone that it would be replaced to the value of R3000.00. I was assured that that was all I needed to do and that I was insured.

I moved to Durban on the 5th of January 2013 and on the 17th of January 2013 my phone was. I reported it to the police and have a case number which I tool to MTN to put in my claim on the 17th of January and was asssured that the claim would be processed within 2 to 24 hours. On the 19th of January 2013 I was informed by MTN that my account was never debited and that I was therefore not insured and after I explained that I had a copy of the contract I had signed with MTN they asked me to bring it in which I did on saturday to the MTN in the Pavilion and I spoke to Gugu.
