Poor communication on new contract

I applied for a new contract on 2013-08-20, which was approved. Concerned about not receiving the phone as yet I called for progress on 2013-08-28. I was informed that an attempt to contact me was made on 2013-08-22, and that the department would be notified to contact me again "later this week". This is completely unacceptable. How can you make a singe attempt to contact a client, then not bother again for a week, only considering doing something about it after the client calls? I've been a loyal client of Vodacom for over 10 years and it's an insult to receive this shoddy level of service.
