Incorrect address delays delivery of handset

As a new customer I am absolutely disgusted by the service I have received.
I applied telephonically for an MTN contract on 24 August. I spoke to Sipho. He called back later advising me I need to fax through a copy of my marriage certificate which I did. I then followed up on Monday and was advised they are still waiting for a copy of my ID, I was never asked for this but I sent it through immediately.
I then received an sms on 27 August advising the phone will be delivered. I waited at home all day and nothing. I had to follow up using my own airtime to MTN as well as the couriers and it turned out that my address was reflecting as African Holdings in Cape Town and not the actual address in PE which I had given. The courier company has advised that they will fly the handset to PE and delivery will now only take place 29 August.
Why was my address captured incorrectly and who is responsible for this? Why did I have to waste money following up when this should all have been done on my very first delivery query to MTN?
If this is how a new customer is treated, I would hate to see how existing customers are treated. I am disgusted and regretting my decision to join MTN.
