Vodacom is getting too desperate!!

On Friday the 15th Agusust I received the ff sms from Vodacom, "Your upgrade request has been processed. Your order number is U522571. Should you have any queries, please 0821959".

On Monday I called the number and told the consultant that I had not requested an upgrade. I asked her how I could be upgraded without my consent, without even giving me an opportunity to choose a handset of my choice.
She told me Vodacom only upgrades if a client calls, and it showed on their system that there was a call made to them.
I then asked if they can retrieve that call and give me more information since I definitely did not make a call to them.
She said she was going to speak to the team leader, and she spoke to the team leader and came back to me telling me the call could not be retrieved because of an error. HOW CONVENIENT??
The matter has not been referred to technical experts that should be able to deal with such technical complications.
The handset was about to be delivered on Monday at an address in Springs although I reside in Pretoria.
Is this the work of an impostor pretending to be me or is this the work of an unscrupulous Vodacom employee?
This does not add up, I smell!!
