Still debit after expiry date-Bad service

My contract expired on the 27th June but I am still being debited on my bank account. When I call Autopage they tell me that I had to call first to tell them that I want to cancel my contract. How can I cancel an expired contract. I've managed to cancel my contract on the 16 August 2013 but they say they say they are still going to deduct money by debit order on 27 August and 27 September 2013. How crazy is that? I've had enough with this company.
