1 call for R 700!

On 27/5/2013 my 84 year old mother made a call to my phone. Although this call was ended after a few minutes, the line remained connected for 35 hours. In this time I was not able to make a call and even though I lifted the receiver and replaced it I still could not get a dialing signal. I also called my mother by cell phone about her line being busy, she picked up her phone and said the line has a humming sound. I have to ask you to look at this account. Nobody, definitely not an 84 year old pensioner can make a call for 35hours. I think we all agree that something is wrong.
I have reported this mistake to Telkom employees but I have not had much joy, especially not from the supervisor that returned my complaint.
I have a few questions
*if I displace the phone when it was replaced it on the instrument, should the call not still be ended when the other person I phoned put the phone down.
*What should we do when neither the caller (my mother) and myself (the receiver of the call) had a way of ending the call!! There seems to be something wrong with the line.
