I have a MTN 2 gig data top up contract for R149 per month which was taken in March 2012 and was billed R149 per month until last month which I was billed R1761.86. When I queried this with MTN they tell me that I used data more than 2 gigs therefore the huge bill, I then explain to the guy that this is impossible as I have a top up and the data will cut out once I exceed the limit of 2 gigs then I NEED TO TOP UP. The guy then referred me to accounts and the lady Alicia who sold me the contract acknowledged that this is a top up contract and this should have not happened therefore she advised that she will investigate and get back to me. Upon investigation from Alicia she then advised there was a SYSTEM ERROR which altered my contract but she will correct it, I then ask when I will be refunded for the money that was debited from me, she advised that there accounts department won't refund me as I used the data but she will query this. I never had to top up data previously on this contract as the 2 gigs was sufficient so MTN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THERE ERROR IMPACTING ON ME. I am with MTN for many years now and poor service like this will drive me away.
