Over charging on expired contract without notice

My data contract for 24 months was R149 per month for 2 GIGS. The contract expired. I went instore to inquire and the lady said all that will happen is that the contract will now be renewed on a month to month basis which I was happy with. The problem was and what I was not informed of by her or MTN was that the new rate is R389 a month. I never agreed to this and I haven't used the data they provided. I definitely don't want to pay this amount a month as I was under the impression it would stay at R149 a month
