I took out a 2gig data contract from Mtn for about R150 per month. This contract had recently expired (without me keeping record of dates). I never bothered with exact dates as I've had an airtime contract expire more than once, and the (debit-order) amount and contract details remained unchanged unless I contacted Mtn personally.
However, in this case, the amount was MORE THAN DOUBLED as soon as the contract expired and it caused me great financial strain. I was never informed that this would be the case or contacted with this info, and found it very upsetting. I had to contact the call centre on 2 occasions. At first I was given a query nr and informed that this was done incorrectly, the matter would be rectified and a credit done before the next billing. Unfortunately, I got the same NASTY surprise on the next debit-order and this time the complaint was simply accepted and I got another query nr. I was told to call back to confirm the credit. However, NOW ONLY (on the third query) did they explain the higher costs!
If the correct credit is not done to my account, I will CERTAINLY no longer do any business with Mtn.
