Dear All
I have found myself in a situation where I am yet again another victim of profound incompetency. I bought my phone last year August from the MTN shop at Cresta Mall, a blackberry 9900 (The latest at the time worth R7000 approx). I was told in these exact words, by a woman named Sibongile who had done my whole contract, "Yes, I can confirm you have insurance."
A month ago my phone was and much to my surprise when I went back to MTN to claim from insurance, I was told "oh no, you don't have insurance." I demanded to see Sibongile because she had actually done this to two of my friends prior, telling them they were insured only to be told otherwise when they tried to claim, and was told she was on leave and no longer worked at the Cresta branch. In fact, the reason I was so pedantic on her confirming my insurance was because I had seen this happen on my watch. Sibongile made me sign papers, and a particular one I had to return to confirm my insurance and I did.
The MTN shop assistants told me that I should have checked that the debit order was going off, but Sibongile never told me that there would be a separate debit order.
