Over 9300 to repair a phone under warranty warrant

I bought an iphone through a contract in march this year. weeks later it started giving me issues whenever I have to charge it but it would still charge provided I pushed the cable hard into the jack. so when I took in to be repaired since it is still under warranty. I made them aware that there is a little crack on the glass so they noted it down.
The lady who was helping me just phoned me to let me know that the cost to have it repaired is R9300, I mean mean what the is that for? I mean the phone was still working and I didn't even ask them to fix the crack on the phone of which was not even visible to them. They said if the phone is water damaged or the problem is related to my negligence then I will be responsible for the cost. you are the worst rip off ever. I will never do any business with you again.
