Appalling after sales service

Good day,

I have been an existing MTN contract holder for over 7 years. I recently upgraded my contract and received a Sony Xperia Z. I had the phone for just over 2 weeks when it switched off and cannot be put back on.
I contacted the MTN Direct call center, the consultant advised that I am out of the 7 day replacement time frame and that I should take it in to any MTN outlet and request a warrantee evaluation.
My first stop was Kenilworth Center, being close to my work place. They advised that they could not help and redirected me to the Century City MTN Service Center.
I arrived there this morning, requesting the same thing.
I spoke to a consultant - Thembi, who advised that the MTN Service/Support Center does not take in hand sets from MTN direct and said that I should go to the Montague Gardens Branch.
I am being sent from pillar to post, I have a practically new but worthless hand set. I have a feeling that if I should decide to go to the Montague gardens branch, that I will be sent somewhere else.
My contract is R369 per month, which should include a warrantee of 2 years, yet I am being treated like I purchased the handset somewhere out of South Africa.
