Data Bundle depleted after only 2 weeks

I have a Top Up MyGig1 data contract for an Ipad. From August 2012 until April 2013 have I never used all of the data. Since April 2013 my data only lasts about a week to two weeks without even using the Ipad. How can the 1 Gig data be more than adequate for 8 months and now all of a sudden doesn't even last more than 2 weeks. I have attempted to resolve this matter by calling customer care numerous times but to no avail as nobody seems to be able to help me. In other words I am paying for a service that I don't receive. To make matters worse when I want to buy an extra data bundle it is almost more than double the price than other service providers. I can clearly see that this is an ongoing concern as I am not the first person complaining on this forum with regard to data bundles that doesn't last all of a sudden.
