Persistent faults from Telkom

I have a 1mb ADSL line with Telkom. I literally report a fault every week for the past year, because there is a problem in my area. A fault gets logged, temporarily fixed, and within 48 hours I am either sitting with no connection or an incredibly slow (unusable) connection. I wrote to Telkom (via email) two weeks ago describing this ongoing problem, quoting the fault ref, as well as the escalation ref. I received no reply to my email. On Monday the technician phoned me to tell me he has discovered the problem is with Eskom!! (now I've heard everything) and he cleared a fault on a line that is still faulty. There is a fundamental infrastructure problem in my area, and it is not being attended to, in spite of a growing demand for service. I am hoping this might a difference, but I am not holding my breath! I have no alternative service provider options in my area, apart from 3G, which is unaffordable. Telkom, please sort out your service on KZN lower south coast!!
