Refusal to cancell expired contract

Two contracts i have with MTN expired, one in February 2013 and another in March 2013. I called call centre for cancellations but they flatly refuse to cancel citing the outstanding amount on the account. They continue loading airtime even when i requested them not to do so.
I went into a Branch in Bloemfontein, Mandela on 17 May 2013 to pay the outstanding amount, the lady who assisted me refused to terminate the contracts.
Reference for the call i made to call centre is 100055126 and 99089157.
According to my contract i only have to give one month notice for the termination to be effected but this seems to be difficult from MTN side.
