Telkom
Account suspended

Telecommunications

I have had a Telkom account in Middelburg for 5 years and paid on time and all payments are up to date.

I installed another phone at my Pretoria residence which included an ADSL package. The phone line was installed and connected around the 12 May 2013.

I received an SMS on 27 May 2013 notifying me that both accounts had been suspended. On enquiry I was informed that I had exceeded Telkoms credit limit of R 3000. This despite not having received an account and the reason for the credit limit being exceeded was due to the installation of the second line and ADSL.

Surely the client should be notified or invoiced before suspending an account, particularly since all outstanding payments are current.

To top it all off full payment was made on the 28th May 2013 and I am still not connected.

Unfortunately there is very little alternative to Telkom - perhaps part of the problem
