When I signed up to become a customer to Cell C on a 200TopUp package, one of the key draw cards for me was the cheap call rates overseas. Typically for the countries I was wanting to call the rate was identical to local rates. However I can not use my monthly credit to make these calls. Instead I have to buy airtime to do it. When I called the Call Centre to complain about this I was stone walled. I asked to speak to a manager or somebody higher up the food chain as clearly this was a policy issue I felt should be looked at. This was refused and a promise was made for this query to be passed on and someone would contact me. After receiving a reference number via a text for my call (3032603626) I have not heard anything else - it's been 2 months!!! I think that for those overseas rates that are the same as local rates there should be no distinguishing between local and international "free minutes" as the airtime is the same cost to the customer.
