In Aug 2012 i purchased a sectional title property. i wen to the municipality to register for the rates and taxes a week after the registration at the deeds office. i called the call centre 2 weeks later to follow up in my log and they made me hold for over an hour waiting for a consultant. 4 months later with no rates and taxes statement being delivered i went back to the municipality to follow up on the issue. this time i was told that the information from the deeds office reflecting that i am the new owner of my townhouse was not reflecting on their system. i was given another reference number, tried to follow up on the matter and still i sit with no answers or statements for my account. i have to take days off work to sort such matters out with municipality and they just prove to be more and more incompetent. there is no help available from the call centres, when you email them a reply is received many months after sending the email. it becomes a major issue getting a service delivered to you when you are trying to be a honourable citizen by wanting to pay your rates and taxes!
