Mtn refuses to cancel contract

My husband took a wifi contract on the 10th of May and returned it less than 24 hours later as we were not happy with the product. We were told the contract will be cancelled and all will be fine... guess what they have sent through a statement for the device we returned. When we call the store they promise to return the call and never did, when we call the call centre they confirmed that they havent received any notification of cancellation from the store. Forcing us to pay for something we dont have is wrong. I regret why we even went to Mtn.
