Vodacom a disappointment

I am extremely disappointed with the poor service I received from Vodacom. I upgraded my contract at a Vodashop on Friday, only to later find out that Cell C was offering a far better deal. I called the Vodacom call centre to ask if I could cancel my contract. I was told if it was within seven days and in the original packaging I could return the phone and cancel the contract. I returned to the store the next day but the store manager said despite what I'd been told, that was not the store's policy. Also while Vodocam "valued their customers" they could not match the Cell C deal. I called the call centre again, only to be told by another consultant that the earlier one had only referred me to the store and did not say they would take the phone back, even though she didn't even bother to listen to the conversation - no manager was on duty to help. What really puzzles me is that recently my husband upgraded over the phone with the Vodacom and later cancelled. So you can cancel a contract if you renew it over the phone but not if you do it in the store - doesn't make sense. Can't wait for the contract to end so I don't have to deal with Vodacom ever again.
