Today I received a call from Cell C informing me of unusually high data usage on a SIM card in my name. Although the SIM is registered in my name, I have never used it. I purchased the contract in order to get the phone and immediately inserted my own SIM card. The contract was taken out in August 2011. Each month, via debit order, I pay R215 which is the contract price. There are no other costs charged to me as the SIM card used is a "Pay As You Go" SIM. This month I have internet charges amounting to in excess of R1600!!! The SIM card has either been or duplicated. Both call centre employees (Martha and Sipho Sichebe) that I spoke to showed zero shock or surprise at my situation or offered me any assistance with any details to make an effort to trace or supply me with any further information. I am shocked and horrified at the lack of assistance at Cell C in attempting to assist me in any way with this. In Cell C's world it is business as usual... at my cost! Disgusted.
