Claiming money

When i moved from newcastle telkom was owing me money for the free adsl service they had as they were billing me every month for it, plus for the rental and interest they had charged me for incorrect billing, when i paid my last instalment i called to asked what my bill was and paid the amount giving to me, i received no communication from them until this year when we get a call from lawyers saying we owe telkom money, which i no i dont owe them anything.
