Poor quality earrings sold

I bought a pair of gold teardrop earrings at American Swizz in December. 3 weeks later I notice a discolouring on the earrings. The gold has come of and the earrings looked bad. I took the earrings back to the store, where I was told that they cannot exchange the earrings as it is their policy. They told me they are aware of the problem, that they had similiar complains with the specific range. Apparently the earrings are part of their fusion range and when came into contact with other metals, may discolour. They took the earrings and told me all they can do is clean the earrings which they did. I went home and a few days later the earrings discolured again. I am very unhappy with the quality of the product and think that they should have warn me when I bought the earrings, that may happen. Now I sit with a pair of earrings that I cannot use due to a supplier selling poor quality products. I will never buy at American Swizz again.
